Curaçao's Hacked Gaming Licence Portal Will Not Return

By BestCasinosBD Editorial TeamUpdated

The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) has taken its online licensing portal out of service for good:

  • A hacker had gained access to the portal in 2025, and published more than 40,000 documents from it in September 2026.
  • By 2 October 2026 the portal was offline. The CGA told applicants to stop emailing portal submissions and postponed filing deadlines.
  • In a notice on 7 October, the CGA said the portal will not return to service (Next.io, Gambling.com).

What it means

  • Existing licences remain valid and operators' obligations are unchanged.
  • Seal checks are affected. Many casinos show a Curaçao seal that links to a certificate page. The CGA said the current digital seal "will be affected" and that an alternative would follow. Until then, a seal alone is weaker evidence than before.
  • A temporary system is planned. A later CGA statement set 19 October 2026 as the target for a temporary portal for applications while a permanent platform is built. It also said a new digital seal and licence register were ready for independent testing (GamblingNews). We had not seen confirmation that it launched when this article was updated.
  • Supplier deadline unchanged. Game suppliers must comply with Curaçao's new licensing law by 24 December 2026 (LCB).

Background

Curaçao's National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK) took effect on 24 December 2024. The CGA now licenses operators directly instead of through master licence holders that issued sublicences (CGA).

Many casinos we review hold, or claim to hold, a Curaçao licence. Our rating method gives full licence points only when we could verify a licence on the regulator's own page, and we record the date of each check. A foreign licence does not make online gambling legal in Bangladesh; see our legal guide.
